NACREW Conference The North American Cranberry Research and Extension Workers’ (NACREW) Conference is a bi-annual event that will be held from August 9-12, 2009, at the Delta Beauséjour Hotel, which is located at 750 Main Street, Moncton, NB. This is the first time that the conference will be held in New Brunswick, and this is the first time that it will be held during the summer months as it is traditionally held in October. Other hosts and venues for the three day conference have included Rutgers University, NJ (2007), and Langley, BC (2005), both close to prominent cranberry growing regions. Traditionally this conference provides a venue for sharing technical information between a relatively select group of specialists and extension workers from universities, public research institutions and a handful of companies. The New Brunswick conference will build upon this success and create a more expansive track to highlight the region’s strong cluster in the health functionality of cranberry and other related species of fruit that are indigenous to the region (wild blueberry, partridgeberry (aka ligonberry).
